Research Projects

7/24/23 – 8/4/23

This research internship engaged and fostered the discipline of translational and clinical research as well as provided participants an opportunity to better understand various concepts within medicine and allied health correlating to the real world.

4/2023 – 7/2023

A youth summit in conjunction with Congress members and the Surgeon General’s office was held in Washington, D.C. to examine key issues related to the mental health of youth. Our team participated in a competition to develop a presentation on mental health and how loneliness is one of the leading causes of mental illness in America. Research on this project began in April 2023 and competition in July of 2023. Our team placed 3rd in the competition.

4/2024 – 5/2024

This project is driven by a belief in the power of contribution – for both participants and those who benefit from their efforts. The goal of this project was to recruit hearing-impaired children within our community to participate in a summer program for deaf kids at the McAllen Boys & Girls Club. This project helped pave the way for my Golden Award Project with Girls Scouts.

1/2021 – 8/2021

The Silver Project is in connection with Girl Scout’s Troop 956 in which we founded and currently maintain a “Giving Closet” at Morris Middle School within McAllen ISD which provides families with clothing, food, and technological gear for students to succeed in school. 200 Hours

1/2024 – 10/2024

The Golden Project is a research-based project in connection with Girl Scout’s Troop 956 which allowed me to garnish the highest level of distinction with the organization. The project is “Our Hearing Hearts,” which made it possible to have interpreters for the deaf at the McAllen Boys & Girls Club for summer programming, assisted with field trips, provided educational services, and developed advocacy awareness for deafness and ASL.  200 hours
